Born and raised in Córdoba, Argentina, I came to Houston in 2002.
In Argentina, I loved to cook and to entertain and after raising my 5 children, I was besieged by friends to plan the menus and arrange all details for their personal and business celebrations. At the request of the president of the local country club, I took over management of its restaurant, bar and grill. After 2 years of building their business and reputation, I joined as a partner with the most successful caterer in Cordoba, creating events for the top families and international companies in Argentina and throughout South America. We had a wonderful partnership for 15 years, until I moved to the United States. We still talk about recipes to this day on the phone.
From the moment I arrived in Houston, I felt at home. The welcoming spirit in Texas reminded me of all my happy times growing up in Argentina, where sophisticated manners and rustic traditions combine to create memorable meals and high-spirited communal celebrations. As in the United States, the migration of Western Europeans to Argentina in the late 19th and early 20th centuries added not only to our cultural diversity but also to the international scope of our culinary experience.
My American mother not only fell in love with my Argentine father, she developed a great love for Argentina, its food and ways of cooking. At home she prepared all the classic dishes she grew up with, but over time mastered all of Argentina's great regional specialties.
Since it has been my good fortune to have first-hand experience with classic cuisine as well that of regional Latin America, it gives my boutique catering business the ability to serve menus appropriate for all tastes and any event, large or small. Our broad range of clients has repeatedly praised our ability to combine organization and well-timed service with intriguing food and stylish décor. It is our desire to serve Houston's gracious hostesses, businesses, foundations and cultural institutions. |
