Founding La Villette

Mariquita Combes started her first catering business in Cordoba, Argentina in the year 1986 with Isabel Nores, the number one caterer in Cordoba, with whom she had a wonderful partnership for 15 years. The high quality of the food and service, and comprehensive event planning were the hallmark of the company. Large wedding parties constituted 90% of their catered events, with brides booking them up to one year in advance

After a successful career managing her own catering business in Argentina, Mariquita decided to move to Houston in 2003 and founded La Villette, a boutique catering company located in The Museum District and occupying a charming building on Bissonnet St. La Villette caters from executive lunches to large receptions, weddings and sit down dinners to Houstonian families and corporations. Mariquita’s diverse ethnic background together with 25 years of experience in two continents, allow her to create European style cuisine with a South American flare.
