Planning and Designing Your Wedding

A wedding can be large or small, formal or casual, in the intimate backyard garden of your home, in a rustic ranch, under an elaborate tent, in a grand ballroom… the possibilities are endless! Whatever the location, whatever the size of the celebration or the formality of the setting, we will work with you to make your wedding an unforgettable affair.

Known for our superb food presentation, great taste, creativity and attention to detail, we understand the importance of arranging every aspect of the celebration to achieve lasting memories for all. The same attention to detail goes into all prenuptial events – the engagement party, a bridal shower, an elegant bridesmaids’ brunch or the all-important rehearsal dinner. Everything is handled with calm and an understanding of budget, timing and deadlines.

The Budget

It is very important to determine your budget. A wedding does not have to be expensive to be elegant and memorable. There are many alternatives to entertain your guests.

The basic information we need from you to prepare a proposal:

  • Your budget
  • Event date
  • Event location
  • Type of wedding
  • Time of day
  • Number of guests
  • Event attire
Invitations and Stationary

Once you have determined how many guests will be invited, it is important to mail the invitations with enough time in advance to make sure all your guests can plan to attend. We can guide you in the right direction by selecting the paper stock, colors, printing methods and help you create a beautiful invitation.

Planning the Reception Menu

We will create the menu with you to ensure the food service and timing of the reception is perfect! There are several things to take into consideration when planning the menu…

  • What is your favorite type of food?
  • How formal or casual is the wedding reception?
  • What are the limitations of the location?
  • How many guests are invited?
  • What is the season of the year?

The location plays an important role; it can determine the menu you choose to serve, how many guests you can invite and even the wedding dress.

Types of Receptions
  • An elegant cocktail party
  • An intimate small wedding at a private home
  • A formal and elegant celebration
  • A spring or fall country wedding under a tent
  • A buffet style reception dinner
  • A formal affair sit-down dinner

La Villette specializes in outdoor and tented wedding receptions. Tented weddings are a good alternative to hotels and country clubs. They can be at a private home, a beautiful ranch or a historic mansion. This will permit you to select all your vendors and have the ceremony and reception at the same location.

Florals

Flowers will create the ambiance at your wedding; they will transmit the feeling of the type of celebration you have chosen for your family and friends.

The Wedding Cake

We will help you determine the decoration for your cake once you have completed all other elements of design for your wedding. The cake must continue with the theme of your celebration.

It is important to book an appointment with our baker from six to twelve months before the wedding.
